Anyone use Air purifiers to help with dander?

I no longer have a cockatiel, but we had many through the years along with cockatoos, and all produce the dander you're talking about. I invested in a simple ionizing air purifier 10 years ago with good results. I paid maybe $5 for it at Goodwill, and as long as we change the filter 2-3 times a year, it does a great job. It's on almost all day every day and collects a lot of debris in the air.
