What is a quakesphere?

I know everyone is saying the world will end on saturday 21st may 2011 I am very scared of it seeing it and all over the internet, by them saying it will end in an earth quake, wouldn't that be impossible since the tectonic plates are in certain areas of the world, so then would it be called a quake sphere if its the whole planet?
